Members Profiles
Anne Mills
I live in Bury, having returned there 13 years ago, after
spending 30 years in Haslingden.
I have worshipped at BUC
for 40 years.
I was christened at Bank
Street Chapel, Bury, attended Sunday School from the age of 2½ and worshipped
there from then on, until I was married in 1968.
I used to be a lecturer in English at Accrington
College.
I also worked for the
Citizens' Advice Bureau in Haslingden for 10 years.
I am passionate about music, reading, going to the theatre and to concerts, the
National Trust and The Historic Houses Association.
I have long been involved with church-administration and am
currently Chairman of the Congregation and Church Secretary.
I enjoy holidays, at home and abroad, and have just returned from
India. I visit Lanzarote regularly, but the
trips I have liked most have been to New Zealand.
I belong to the church Book Club; recently, I
have enjoyed reading "The Unlikely Pilgrimage of Harold Fry" and "Brooklyn".
I am inspired by the music of Mozart; his
melodies and harmonies are sublime!
