Val Chamberlain

• I live in Adlington, near Chorley

• I’ve been worshiping at BUC for 30 years

• I was christened at Bank St Chapel

• I used to be a teacher and teacher trainer.

• I am passionate about gardening, walking, cooking, meditating, going to art galleries and museums, reading, ballet and dance, football, and clutter-clearing!

• In my local community I am a school governor and am involved in a campaign to save the local library from closure.

• I support Wigan Athletic football club.

• Last year I was fortunate to join a charity trek in Nepal and members of the church raised over £700 for Nepal in Need’s earthquake appeal through sponsorship and events.

• 3 of my of all-time favourite  books are Pride and Prejudice, Captain Corelli’s Mandolin and Miss Garnett’s Angel.

• 3  writers who have inspired me are Carl Rogers,  Eileen Caddy and William Bloom.
